Jackie's Top Ten Health Reminders List

With the Holiday Season I wanted to post something to remind us all why we still need to remember health an to treat yourself well.


Top Ten Health Reminders List

1) Do something you love! If you find something you enjoy to do then it won't be such a struggle to do it.

2) You Deserve It!

3) Sometimes its not about how you look in the mirror or how sociaty sees you but how good your body feels and what your capable of doing.

4) A healthy life opens doors to more life opertunitys, things you didn't do before because you where not physically capable now become things you do on a regular basis.

5) You can't be their for everyone if your not their for yourself, You avoid taking care of yourself because everyone else comes first and you will neglect yourself to the point where you aren't capable of taking care of anyone!

6) Their is freedom in taking control of your body and its needs instead of letting your body control your life.

7) Satisfaction... you can find it in being healthy much more than you can in over eating or sitting on your butt.

8) Love yourself.

9) Theirs nothing shameful about a body that was given to you/created by god/goddess/the universe/life.

10) It shows when you respect your body and yourself.

Jackie's Exercise (forgot to post...)

 It's come to my attention that I've been using the facebook to post my exercise for the day and forgot to post in here sooo....

9/27/2011- did the chairotica at Bods then did my 2 mile walk home. weighed myself at the grocery store on my way home and theirs no change this time (not surprised), now to cool off and take a shower... I'm a mess!
9/22/2011- chairotica,  Holy Sh... I flipped myself on a chair! *still giggling although my legs feel like jello*, all thanks to Bods. Seriously... I'm surprised, my balance has been off for the last couple years cause of my weight. And if you don't know what I'm talking about... well maybe eventually I will post a pict. Weight today... 271lbs! I would have taken a pict with my cell phone of the scale but my phone is dying. That's 2lbs down since last weigh in making my total so far 12lbs! No walk (it was an evening class so it was dark).
not sure what days I did this but it was within the last couple weeks- wii zumba 40min, wii dance 40min.
If you recognize what your reading its because this was posted to the facebook page. I'm going to start writing post its to remind me to post on the blog also LOL! I might have missed a post.. but basically that's it. Once a week is Bods, hopefully I will get a job and be able to afford a membership fee that's more than once a week. Till then this is what I got. I do need to ramp up my home work outs though *groans* I really dislike the boring home workouts :(  unless its wii dance games, those are fun.

Jackie's Exercise 9/7/2011-9/11/2011

 a couple of these where previously posted on one of my challenge post but they where false starts to a challenge so for organization sake I took them off and posted them here.


9/7/2011- Got up this morning and went to zumba class at Bods... zumba heat at 9:30-10:30, as usual it kicked my rear. The ladys at Bods are supper nice and Tammy is wonderful. Then I walked about 2.4 miles home if my map search is correct. Was dropped off at Bods by John on his way to work then after zumba I walked to Publix to weigh myself (275lbs) and then walked back the way I came from (though the shopping plaza where bods is) back toward home. Now I'm hot, tired but kinda still energized in that weird way you get when you have all those endorphins running though you, I'm not really all that hungry but that might have been cause all the bouncing around I did plus the heat from the walk home (I really want a bike, It would be nice to feel a breeze on my face as a peddled home instead of dead air as I walked). I'm going to eat breakfast anyways though cause its getting late and I don't want to clump all my calories together like I use to. Oh, and I'm in a good mood but that might just be cause I like Bods and cause I like meeting nice people.... Oh and I almost forgot to say, the walk is usually a pain for me and I have done it going to and back before. But this time just going one way after zumba wasn't so bad. Maybe zumba loosened me up or something but my legs aren't complaining yet and I didn't feel like it was that bad an effort.

9/9/2011- Bods Body Blast class @ 9:30-10:30am, walked about 2.4 miles home then took a shower. Snacked on a yogurt after. I feel good, slightly tired, and am defiantly hungry now that I have had time to cool off.

9/10/2011- 50min of just dance for the wii.
 9/11/2011- 30min of just dance for the wii.

Lauren on Facebook challenges- "get your mind set for this one.. it's hard (I still struggle after 3 years into my health journey). Workout BEFORE breakfast for 3 days in a row (just grab a drink before you work out). See if you notice any symptoms such as more hunger, better mood, more energy, etc. This will do a drastic boost to the metabolism, so make sure you have healthy snacks in the house!"

This is difficult, I have tryed several days to do this in a row but have ended up not quite doing it. Usually because of getting up to late (I'm not a morning person usually) or some other excuse. I am not going to let this get in the way though. I will be wakeing up in the morning tomorrow to play some wii dance game in the hope of restarting this challenge. I then am going to go to one of the classes either for the second day of the challenge or the third, haven't quite made up my mind.
 
Hopefully I can get this done, till then, I'm posting the stuff I did have as false starts to the challenge as an exercise diary posting to make it more organized.

Jackie Food/Exercise Post 9/3/2011-9/4/2011

Ok, haven't actually had a chance to be on the computer enough to actually put in my diary post this weekend. I found that I really need a notebook to write all my stuff down in for when John has extended use of the computer *sigh* I've been keeping track in the morning but been struggling with dinner time the last couple days. Mostly trying to figure out numbers of things I only fix every now and then. My pasta salad yesterday was low enough (barely used any "sauce/low fat mayo" and used low cal whole wheat pasta and lots of celery and carrots with a splash of lemon juice) that I think I was in my calorie range for the day... probably went a little over the count with the rum I had but it was rum with flavored water (no calories in the water so it was only the rum that was naughty of me) 2 that night, but tonights dinner (oven baked) chicken wings... I have no idea, unfortunately my sauce had a mind of its own and would not turn out correct without me tossing in a dozen things to try to balance the flavors... this means I have no idea what the calorie count was in the sauce. Good thing? It was relatively healthy since it had a lot of peppers, onions, and stuff like that and no butter plus the wings where "naked" wings, as in they where baked with no batter. Its just the exact numbers that escaped me *sigh* the good thing? I ate in moderation and even though I bought fresh REGULAR bread from the bakery (its hard to resist a still hot/warm loaf) I ate only the correct portion size and did not add butter so it actually fit in the guidelines of calorie count for my "snack". As for the rest of the long weekend? I'm going to dig up a unused notebook and try to get this number thing under control with the help of it and use of my cell phone to get online to look up calorie count for some of my ingredients. Plus I'm going to try to get John's help in some house organizing in prep for my comming B-day party on Oct 1st so he wont be on the computer 24/7 if I have anything to say about it.

Oh and I bought some lean pockets that where on sale that happen to be within my calorie budget lunch wise. So I'm probably going to be eating that for lunch the next few days.

Exercise wise? I also rented zumba for the wii the other day and so my exercise for this weekend comes to 80min total of wii zumba for Sat & Sun.

Oh, and on the health front... my spotting is becoming almost non existent! I believe its the working out and losing a few pounds. Can't wait to get to the point where I have a normal period once a month and that's it without worry bout if the spotting will come back. I will also be happy once I can do a full 40-60min workout without feeling like I need a nap after or a break in between LOL!


I think another big help for me might be me buying a schedule book. That way I can keep track of my diet and exercise easier and be organized about it... but until I have the cash for that a regular notebook John has sitting around will have to work.

Between them both and also the mixing I been doing (tryed to make cookies for my grandma and also mixed up a bowl of stuff to make a meatloaf) my shoulders hurt :(

I guess no pain no gain... or in my case weight loss?

Jackie's Motivation Post... Who I want to see in the mirror.



Who I want to see in the mirror is a bold active woman. 

Someone who gets done what is needed but still makes time for herself and the things she loves.

When I look in the mirror I not only want to see a beautiful woman (witch I am already) but also a healthy woman.

I want to surround my life with what I can do instead of  "doesn't do much".

I want people to see the extraordinary me, not the "eh" or "blah" me.

I want my memory to be in not only peoples hearts but in their minds as an example of what life/a person can be.

So this is why I need to get healthy.


Top 10 Things I want to do with a healthy body

1) Take John and his sons camping/fishing/hiking and take pictures of nature without constantly tailing behind and gasping for breath or missing photo ops cause I'm exhausted.

2) Walk/Ride a bike to the grocery store if I'm stuck with no car without having to recover the next day.

3) Be able to go to amusement park and ride rides without worrying if I will fit in the harness or about weight limitations.

4) Confront my fear of heights with wall climbing, zip lining, or other activity's such as that.

5) Go kayaking at the zoo with John and his sons.

6) run!

7) dance the night away!

8) spring clean the house in a reasonable time frame.

9) Go swimming more often (I rarely go swimming now because my spotting and while some people may use tampons to go swimming during I don't feel comfortable doing this) in a bikini.

10) Be more flexible... I'd like to be able to do the splits all the way or kick above my head ;)


Top 10 Ideas to treat myself make over wise when I reach my goal.

1) A tattoo... my tiger tattoo I want on my back or to encourage myself not to gain weight a tattoo that is on my sides (probably something with my Chinese hat tree, butterflys, and tree frogs).

2) Hair style, Love my current hair style but get a bit more shape to the middle, keep the sides buzzed cut but get the buzzed part dyed to have tiger print that can be hidden by rest of hair when want to look "normal".

3) Belly button ring, not only cute (even though its a bit to common) but also would encourage me to keep the weight off since I wouldn't want stretching in that area.

4) A outfit (like this this this or this) from Betsey Johnson, my fav designer and roll model... great designer plus, if you can be a grandma and do a cartwheel on a cat walk then you are beyond awesome. I so hope I can be at lease half as cool as I age.

5) An outfit (and new lingerie/undies) from Frederick's of Hollywood (like this this this), cause I has to shop at my fav place :D

They must have sold out of it, witch makes me really sad cause I wanted a white version of this as one of my weight loss goal items, normally I just link to items or use free blog images since I don't like to snag picts like some people (I like to use my own picts) but since they where sold out the link died and I couldn't show you without grabbing the picture link

7) A new pair of heals to celebrate being able to wear heals again for longer than 15min.

8) Spa day!

9) A photo shoot so I can show off my new bod.

10) A party, cause I got to thank everyone who supported me on the way.
